Royal Palm Golf and Country Club hailed for enhanced revenues

LAHORE: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Pakistan Railways has appreciated the current administration of the Royal Palm Golf and Country Club (RPGCC) for generating three times more revenue than the previous administration, a statement said.

During the visit to the RPGCC, committee chairman Mueen Wattoo appreciated the achievement of the Pakistan Railways after taking over the control of RPGCC.

Earlier, the committee members were given briefing about the history, development and renovation work in the RPGCC.

The delegation was informed that the current administration had increased the number of the members from 1,600 to 3,166. RPGCC earned Rs45.47 million during 2019/20, which increased to Rs130.04 million during 2020/21.

The committee suggested outsourcing the club at the earliest. The committee also visited the locomotives workshop where a detailed briefing was given by divisional superintendent workshop Iftekhar Hussain.

He said the under-staff workshop is working with almost 80 per cent old machinery.
