KARACHI: The rupee gained 24 paisas against the dollar on Thursday due to the improved inflows of export receipts and workers remittances, dealers said.
The exchange rate ended at Rs163.23 against the dollar from the previous day’s closing of Rs163.47 in the interbank foreign exchange market.
The dealers said sufficient supply of the dollars in the shape of export receipts and workers remittances helped the rupee make gains.
The local currency had so far lost around Rs6.35, or 4.03 per cent, against the greenback since the closing on June 30, 2021 at Rs157.54 against the greenback.
