The Good Doctor’s season four gave us a roller coaster ride of emotions and major reasons to wait for the fifth season. We are extremely excited to break the news to you that the first episode of the fifth season is coming to your screens on September 27th, 2021.

The show is based on the 2013 South Korean series of the same name. It follows the story of Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore), an autistic surgeon with Spectrum Disorder working at St. Bonaventure Hospital with other surgical staff. Shaun has been seen facing multiple challenges in his life due to ASD, however, he battles through the phases with his brilliance and god-gifted intelligence.

Season 5 will pick up from the events of last season’s finale where we bid farewell to beloved Dr Clair Brown (Antonia Thomas) who chose to stay at the village and help villagers so we would not be able to see her in the play again. Instead, Dr Jordan Allen (Bria Samoné Henderson) and Dr Asher Wolke (Noah Galvin) have been named series regulars.

The surprising fact about the fifth season of The Good Doctor is that we will be seeing a new cast in the series. This might be done to add more flavor and colors to the drama as every character has its own uniqueness and strength that adds to the popularity of the series. It will also focus on the growing relationship between Shaun and Lea (Paige Spara), who broke down following the miscarriage. Thankfully, they don’t part their ways and found their way to regain their happiness and fans can’t wait to see what’s next for them.

According to ABC, Freddie Highmore as Dr Shaun Murphy, Richard Schiff as Dr Aaron Glassman, Paige Spara as Lea Dilallo, Fiona Gubelmann as Dr Morgan Reznick, Will Yun Lee as Dr. Alex Park, Christina Chang as Dr Audrey Lim, and Hill Harper as Dr. Marcus Andrews will be reprising their roles in season 5.
