Arrested factory owner in Lahore gang-rape case claims victims made false claims

Lahore factory owner arrested in linking with the suspected gang-rape of two young women in Gujjarpura has stated that the women made a false allegation of rape.

The factory owner Nadeem said in his statement to the Police that his cousin Irfan had prearranged to celebrate the birth of his son at the factory and had also invited five other friends for the party.

Both young women were brought from Shahdara for the party to dance and were paid Rs15,000 for it, claimed the arrested factory owner during the interrogation.

The young women were supposed to get free by 2 pm, but were taken home at 7 am the next day said the suspect.

An argument over money was raised and so the women made false allegations of rape, claimed the arrested factory owner.

Whereas, a day earlier, the police had stated that three men gang-raped two young women at a factory in Gujjarpura.

The three suspects raped the women at a factory that produces chairs in Karol Ghatti and then escaped the place. The location is near the motorway, stated the Police.

The law enforcement had said that the young women had been kidnapped from Shahdara and brought to Gujjarpura and the factory owners are taken in custody.

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar had taken notice of the gang rape within the limits of the Gujjarpura police station and required a report from the Lahore CCPO.

He had given orders for the instant seizure of the respondents convoluted in the rape case.
