England and Wales Cricket Board (EBC) on Wednesday announced that Moeen Ali will be acting as the Vice-Captain (VC) for England in the fourth Test match against India scheduled to start from September 2 at The Oval.
At the start of the Test series, Moeen was not even in the squad, and now he has been made the VC of the team. He has climbed up the ladder in just a few weeks.
The ECB took it to Twitter and posted, “Moeen Ali has been named as our vice-captain for the fourth LV= Insurance Test against India. Congrats, Mo!”

Currently, the series has leveled. Both sides won one match each while one match ended in a draw.
India won the second Test by 151 runs. L Rahul was named man of the match.
The third Test was won by England by an inning and 76 runs. England outperformed India after they bowled the visitors for 78 in the first inning. Joe Root and Ollie Robinson were also present in the match.
Root scored his sixth century of the year and climbed to the number one spot in the ICC Test rankings. Robinson took 5-wicket haul for 65 runs.
