Jaskaran Malhotra hit six sixes in an over in ODI

United States of America (USA) Jaskaran Malhotra hit six sixes in an over in One Day Internationals (ODI) against Papua New Guinea.

India-born wicketkeeper-batsman, Jaskaran smashed sixes to the right-arm medium pacer Gaudi Toka. His blistering knock drove the USA to 271/9 in fifty overs.

Jaskaran Malhotra became the second batsman in the world after South Africa’s Herschelle Gibbs hit six sixes in an ODI.

Also, Malhotra smashed the first ODI century from the USA. He scored 173 runs off 124 balls with four boundaries and sixteen sixes.

Jaskaran has also broken the record for the highest score by a number five in ODI cricket, eclipsing the 162 by South Africa’s AB de Villiers against West Indies at the 2015 World Cup.

He made his List ‘A’ USA debut in 2017 before the US gained ODI status in 2019. He has since gone on to make six T20 and seven ODI appearances.

The United States won the first match of the two-match series on Monday by seven wickets.
