Neeraj Chopra defends Arshad Nadeem against Indian Media
Indian javelin thrower, Neeraj Chopra defended Pakistani javelin thrower, Arshad Nadeem against false propaganda by Indian media.
Recently, Arshad received a cash prize for his Tokyo Olympics 2020 from a local university. While talking in the event he thanked Neeraj for standing in his support throughout against Indian media.
He said, “Neeraj Bhai is really a good man and we spent a lot of time together,”
“I felt too happy when he schooled Indian media for propagating against me. I admire him and looking forward to good relations with him,”
The propaganda started when Neeraj shared the story of his javelin before his throw in the final of the event.
He said, “I was searching for my javelin at the start of the final. I was not able to find it. Suddenly, I saw Arshad was moving around with my javelin. Then I told him, ‘Bhai give this javelin to me, it is my javelin! I have to throw with it’. Then he gave it back to me. That’s why you must have seen I took my first throw hurriedly.”
Later, he schooled his media for the false propaganda against Arshad.
He said, “I am hurt that they [media] are propagating it and using my name. Please don’t do this as sports teaches us to be together and united. I’m extremely disappointed to see some of the reactions from the public on my recent comments,”
