Provincial Minister of Punjab for Sports, Rai Taimoor Khan announced 25 lac rupees for the Pakistani gold medalist Haider Ali in Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
As per the details, Punjab Government has decided to honour Haider in a grand ceremony where Punjab’s Chief Minister Usman Buzdar will also be present. Rai said that Usman Buzdar will give the prize money to Haider by himself.
Rai Taimoor Khan said, “Haider has made all of us really proud. We will honour him in a huge ceremony and CM will give him the cash prize,”
Haider Ali is the first Pakistani to win a gold medal in the Paralympic Games. In the Men’s Discus Throw competition of Paralympic Games 2020, Haider threw a 55.26 meters throw in his 5th attempt out of 6 which is also his personal best.
Ukraine’s Zhabnyak won a silver medal with a 52.43 meters throw, while Brazilian Teixeira de Souza won a bronze with a 51.86 throw.
