Despite big statements of restricting street crimes in Karachi, more than 50,000 occurrences of street crime have been reported in Karachi during the first eight months of 2021, stated the police officials.

Most of the street crime incidents involved motorcycle snatching, followed by mobile snatching and four-wheeler snatching incidents, stated the Police.

During the first eight months of 2021, around 34,181 motorcycles, 14,578 mobile phones, and 1,268 four-wheeler vehicles were snatched from the citizens of the most populated city of the country.

The officials claimed that 54 people lost their lives while 458 people were persistent injuries during the street crime incidents in the city.

Whereas, CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah was told that there is a decline of 30 percent in street crimes in the month of August during a law and order meeting.

The CM Sindh was informed that street crime has observed a 30 percent decline during 10 days from August 11. To which, the chief minister said he wanted complete removal of the street crimes.

Whereas the CM was informed that two Police officers were arrested for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping incidents.

“Both of them have been arrested,” the AIG Karachi said as the chief minister directed him to award them archetypal punishment.

The AIG was directed by the CM to keep an eye on police officials using such personnel after it was informed that the detained cops aided at the private offices of the police officials.
