A month earlier during the Samsung Unpacked event, Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 were unveiled. Along with that Whatsapp announced the support for moving chat messages from iOS to Samsung devices running on Android 10 or 11.

And now, this feature is finally live. If you have a Samsung device running Android 10 or 11, you can transfer your Whatsapp chat history from an iPhone.

The whole process is done without sending any message to Whatsapp. The transferred items include chats, voice messages, photos, and videos.

When you will set up Whatsapp on your Samsung device for the first time, you will be asked if you want to transfer chats from an iPhone. For this process, you will need a USB Type-C cable.

Account information, your profile photo, individual chats, group chats, chat history, media, and settings are all transferred over. Call history and your display name won’t make the jump, however.

The process of transferring chasts can be found here. It requires a Smart Switch app and a new Samsung device. If you have done a factory reset then you can do this process too.

Whatsapp says that it will make this feature available to more Android devices soon.
