RAWALPINDI: Four security personnel of the law enforcement agencies were martyred during a joint operation of the Pakistani Army, and police after an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in Bajaur district on October 20.

In a statement on Thursday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the security forces and the police were conducting a cordon and search operation in Dabrai, late Wednesday night when the incident happened.

Two Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers, identified as Lance Naik Mudassir and Sepoy Jamshed, and two police constables, Sepoy Abdul Samad and Sepoy Noor Rehman embraced martyrdom, said the media wing of the military.

“The area clearance is being carried out to eliminate any terrorist if found in that locality,” added the ISPR.

Yesterday, a 26-year-old Pakistan Army soldier was also martyred after terrorists fired at a military post in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (K-P) Hangu district.

According to the ISPR, terrorists had attacked a military post in the Thall area of Hangu District late Tuesday night.
Troops had responded promptly to the attack that “effectively engaged the terrorists.” The ISPR had identified sepoy Waqas as the martyred soldier who was a resident of Mansehra.
