LAHORE: Additional Director General (ADG) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Dr Ehsan Sadiq was transferred over the alleged controversy with his junior officer serving at the Cyber Crime Wing.
“Mr Ehsan Sadiq, a BS-21 officer of Police Service of Pakistan, presently serving in Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), under Interior Division, is transferred and his services are placed at the disposal of Intelligence Bureau (IB), with immediate effect and until further orders,” said a notification issued by the establishment division.
According to sources, Dr Sadiq has been transferred after he had issued two separate explanation letters to FIA’s Director Operations at Cyber Crime Wing (CCW) Babar Bakht Qureshi for his alleged misuse of powers and giving punishments to his subordinates.
According to documents, available with Bol News, Babar Bakht Qureshi instead of responding to the serious allegations had written a letter to Director General FIA Sanaullah Abbasi. He had accused Sadiq of “influencing” ongoing probes by transferring an assistant director.
Ehsan Sadiq had already brought this matter into the knowledge of the DG FIA and termed Qureshi claims “baseless” and “total lies”.
Bol News tried to reach DG FIA Sanaullah Abbasi for his comments but he preferred not to respond till the filing of this report.
