Spending free time in the garden may be a luxury for some people. However, for a British resident, it was a terrifying experience. A man living near Windsor Castle, believe it or not, was splashed with faeces after an airplane flying over the area dumped it during a flight in July.

The event was brought to light recently when Karen Davis, a councilor for Clewer East, spoke about it at the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead’s aviation forum, according to the media.

Davis described how the garbage had covered his entire garden, as well as his garden umbrellas and himself, “in a really unpleasant way” while speaking at the event. According to the report, the incident occurred as the plane approached Heathrow airport.

According to the media, “I know a number of incidents happen every year with frozen sewage from planes, but this wasn’t frozen and his whole garden was splattered in a very unpleasant way.”

“Hopefully it never happens again to any of our residents.”

Sewage is usually stored in tanks in aircraft lavatories and disposed of after the plane has landed. When excrement does seep from a plane, however, it usually freezes immediately due to the frigid temperatures at cruising altitude.

Geoff Paxton, a Whitfield parish councilor who has worked at airports for 40 years, told the media that he had not seen anything like this in a long time and that it was “extremely rare.”

The councilman went on to say that vacuum toilets on modern airlines were typically considerably more secure than those on planes in the past when such instances were more common.
