Sindhi Culture Day to be celebrated at Expo 2020
KARACHI: The Sindh government will organise an investment conference as well as a Sufi classical performance at Expo 2020 Dubai, says a statement released by the Sindh culture department.
This was decided at a meeting held in the Sindh Secretariat regarding Dubai Expo 2020 in which Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, Provincial Minister for Education and Culture Syed Sardar Ali Shah and other relevant officials participated.
Officials of the investment department said that specific months have been allocated for the cultural exhibition of all the provinces in the Pakistan Pavilion Dubai, with Balochistan featured in October, Punjab in November, Sindh in December, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in January, Gilgit-Baltistan in February and Azad Jammu & Kashmir in March.
It was informed that in December various important events will occur such as UAE National Day, Sindhi Culture Day, Quaid-i-Azam’s birthday while Sindh government will host an investment conference on Dec 22 and a grand Sufi classical performance.
Mumtaz Ali Shah said that the cultural heritage of Sindh will be highlighted in the Pakistani pavilion at Expo 2020. He further said that important projects in the province will also be displayed at the Dubai Expo. He directed the secretaries of all the departments concerned to provide details of their important projects to the investment department after which it and the Public-Private Partnership department would work together to ensure the exhibition of such projects at Dubai Expo.
Sardar Ali Shah said that a programme would be organized at Dubai Expo on the occasion of Sindhi Culture Day in December. He said that Dubai Expo will have art, folk music, digital presentation, documentary and workshops which will give us an opportunity to highlight the culture of Sindh in front of the whole world.
