PESHAWAR: Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Moazzam Jah Ansari on Tuesday introduced the Ababeel Squad to control crime and improve the law and order situation in Peshawar.
The Ababeel Squad consist of 1,600 personnel, and will go after street criminals apart from carrying out patrols to curb the increasing street crime in Peshawar.
IGP Ansari said that the new squad will be equipped with over 400 new motorbikes, bullet-proof jackets, helmets, communication gadgets, weapons and other devices.
“Cameras will also be installed in jackets so that the officers are also monitored,” said Ansari

There has been a steady increase in street crimes in Peshawar and many other major cities of the country in recent months.
