KARACHI: The Association of Builders and Developers (Abad) on Thursday announced to halt construction work on all projects from Friday, November 26, 2021, to protest against the null and void declaration of all the projects, despite approval by the government agencies.
In a statement, Mohsin Shekhani, chairman of Abad said that the work on all the approved projects in Karachi will be stopped.
Shekhani said that Abad is against illegal encroachments and constructions. “It is the responsibility of the government to check illegal projects before giving no objection certificate (NOC) to the builders,” he added.
Abad is following approvals strictly but despite approvals and getting permission, such moves shatter the confidence of the people, he added.
“We are backstabbing the overseas Pakistanis and local investors who have invested millions of rupees in various projects,” he said, adding that the expatriates and local investors would be perturbed by this decision.

Sheikhani said that work on all projects in Karachi, Hyderabad and other cities will be halted from Friday and the same would gradually be done in other parts of the country.
