LAHORE: Taking care of less-privileged people of the society was everyone’s responsibility, an official said.

Speaking at a function organised by the Saya Welfare Foundation at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Pir Noor ul Haq Qadri said: “It is our collective responsibility to serve the ailing humanity.”

The business community is generating employment for the human resource and providing revenue to the government, he said and praised the role of the LCCI in promoting business activities in the country.

LCCI President Mian Nauman Kabir said: “It is pride for us that Pakistan is one of the top countries in the world in terms of welfare activities,” adding that the LCCI was well-aware of its corporate social responsibility.

The Lahore Businessmen Association for the Rehabilitation of Disables (Labard) is working under the patronage of the LCCI, while it is also supporting Shalamar Hospital and other institutions.

Kabir appreciated the Saya Welfare Organisation for supporting the ailing humanity.

LCCI senior vice president Mian Rehman Aziz Chan, vice president Haris Ateeq and Saya Foundation chairperson Komal Saleem also spoke on the occasion.
