KARACHI: In Nazim Jokhio murder case, the court ordered the new investigation officer to complete the probe till next hearing.
The judicial magistrate Malir directed the investigating officer to complete the investigation and present challan of the case at the next hearing.
During the hearing, the judicial magistrate said decision about adding the Terrorism Act would be taken in the light of the final investigation report. The plaintiff had sought inclusion of anti-terrorism provisions in the case.
Pakistan Peoples Party MPA Jam Awais and other accused in Nazim Jokhio murder case were produced before the judge today.
The judicial magistrate sent all the accused to jail on judicial custody and adjourned the hearing till December 2.
New Investigation Officer Inspector Siraj Lashari submitted a request for extension of physical remand of the accused for 14 days. He apprised that the investigation was transferred to him from previous investigation officer Mujtaba Bajwa a day ago. Post-mortem report of the victim was not received from the DVR Punjab forensic lab, he said.
It is pertinent here to mention that the investigation team in the Nazim Jokhio murder case has been changed on request of family members of the victim. The additional inspector general Karachi had issued a notification regarding formation of the new, which is being headed by AIGP Tanvir Alam Odho.
