LAHORE: Newly appointed Director-General (DG) Rangers Punjab Major General Syed Asif Hussain called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Monday.

During their meeting, CM Buzdar congratulated Major General Hussain — who recently replaced Major General Muhammad Aamir Majeed as DG Rangers Punjab — on assuming his new role and wished him luck for carrying out his responsibilities.

Principal Secretary to CM Punjab Muhammad Aamir Jan was also present at the occasion.

The provincial chief minister also appreciated the efforts of the officers of Rangers for protecting the country’s borders and maintaining peace in the country.

“We are proud of our Ranger. They are not just the saviours of our borders, but their role in maintaining peace is exemplary too,” said CM Buzdar.

The chief minister also assured the provincial government’s complete support to the newly appointed DG Rangers Punjab in carrying out his duties for the betterment of the province.

While appreciating the role of armed forces and Rangers, CM Buzdar said, “Pakistan’s defence is impregnable, and our enemies cannot see towards us with a wicked eye.”

“Peace is maintained in Pakistan today because the country’s brave sons have written its history with their blood,” said the Punjab CM.

“The bravery and success of our armed forces, in the war against terrorism, has left an immortal impression in our history. Our Rangers are our pride.”
