KARACHI: International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) of the University of Karachi (UoK) on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Sumatera Utara (USU) in Indonesia.
A press release said that the MoU aims to promote education and academic exchanges between the two institutions.
The ICCBS spokesman said that the MoU was signed in an online meeting held recently. Professor Dr M Iqbal Choudhary, Director of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, and COMSTECH Coordinator-General, and Rector of the University of Sumatera Utara Dr Muryanto Amin signed the MoU on behalf of their institutions.
Choudhary called the agreement a very concrete step towards the promotion of education and academic exchanges between the two institutions.
Talking about the international stature of the famous Pakistani institution, he said that the ICCBS enjoys international repute in the field of science and research.
“The international centre is known for its excellence in academic research and graduates training,” he said, adding that at the same time the centre is serving industries and government agencies.
According to the spokesman, the MoU intends to establish a mutually beneficial relationship built on academic, scientific and cultural cooperation between two institutions.
