Karachi Police arrest dacoits, street criminals in separate raids

KARACHI: A dacoit was killed while his accomplice was injured in an exchange of fire within the limits of Defence police station on Tuesday.

The deceased and injured – who were later identified as Saifuddin (24) son of Matin and Saeed (22) son of Ghafoor respectively – were shifted to the Jinnah Hospital.

Couple found dead

In another incident, gunshot riddled bodies of a couple were found from a house near Metrowell Block 03 near Siddique Akbar Mosque. The bodies were shifted to the Abbasi Hospital. The couple was identified as Roman (35) and Sameera (30).

Gang members arrested

Police have arrested two gang members (Jaffar Sadiq Sabzwari and Zahid) previously involved in an armed robbery at the Malir City. According to details available to Bol News, police raided Bakra Pedi Road during the patrol wherein a group of robbers were robbing a citizen. Upon encountering the police, suspects made an unsuccessful attempt to escape.

Police said illegal weapons, two snatched mobile phones and a few other items were recovered from the arrested suspects. Police also seized a motorcycle without a number plate used by the accused.

The gang was involved in dozens of robberies in the area. Other cases including robbery and thefts have been registered against the arrested accused in Malir City and Khokhrapar police stations. A case was registered against the accused on the complaint of a citizen. The arrested accused have been handed over to the investigating authorities for further investigation.

Street criminals arrested

Sohrab Goth police nabbed two street criminals involved in snatching mobile phones and cash from a citizen, Saaem. The culprits later identified as Gul Muhammad alias Dood and Nadir Khan. The other accomplices of the accused, Ghato and Bihar Gul, managed to escape from the scene.

Mobile phones, cash and two pistols with rounds of ammunition were recovered from the possession of the accused along with a without number plate motorcycle.
