A Pakistani researcher Dr Mubashir Rehmani has been ranked among the top one per cent researchers in the field of computer science by Clarivate for the second year.
Dr Rehmani is an assistant lecturer at Department of Computer Science, Munster Technological University (MTU).
MTU, in a tweet, said Mubashir Rehmani has been selected for inclusion on the annual Highly Cited Researchers 2021 List from Clarivate, a web analytics company based in the US, which provides analytics in the areas of scientific and academic research.

His work has been cited 3,944 times by 132 publications.
According to Clarivate, the assistant lecturer has researched on the topics of blockchain, computer science, cyber security, engineering, internet of things, smart grid, telecommunications, wireless networks and wireless sensor networks among others.
The MTU in a statement said, “He has written over 132 peer-reviewed articles of which 11 feature among highly cited articles by Clarivate. His performance in this context features in the top one per cent in Cross-Field. More precisely, in the domain of Computer Science, Telecommunications, and Engineering. His research work has been recognised internationally and he is the recipient of several best paper awards”.

This year’s list of Clarivate includes 24 Nobel laureates, including five announced this year. Also included are 77 Citation Laureates: individuals recognised by Clarivate, through citation analysis, as ‘of Nobel class’ and potential Nobel Prize recipients, said the MTU.
Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi, Pakistan’s Embassy in Ireland, and US Consulate in Karachi among others congratulated the Pakistani computer scientist.
