President Arif Alvi lauds ASF for ensuring security of airports, travellers

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi on Monday lauded the Airport Security Force (ASF) for ensuring the security of airports and travellers.

Addressing the passing out parade of the BASC-49 Airport Security Course at the Airport Security Force Academy in Karachi, Dr Arif Alvi said the personnel of the ASF rendered exemplary services during the war against terror.

He congratulated the ASF passing out trainees for completing their 24-week airport security training course. He hoped the ASF would continue to serve the country with same high national spirit and dedication.

“Your professionalism is gauged and an image is built among the public when they find you treating them very politely along with fulfilling the national security demand,” he said adding that the ASF won big appreciation during Covid-19 outbreak through its best service against chaos at most of the airports in the world. Similarly, during the recent evacuation from Afghanistan its services were praised, he said.

President Alvi expressed his satisfaction that a good number of females were part of the ASF, like in many other professions. “The representation of women in the ASF is encouraging and a pride for us,” he said.

The president also stressed the need for cyber security and ensuring safety of data by utilising modern technology.

Earlier, he inspected the formations in five companies tagged Hyder, Fatima, Khalid, Kauser and Salahuddin and appreciated the quality of professionalism.

He also witnessed the march past of the trainees before distributing prizes among the achievers of distinguished positions in the training course.
