KARACHI: Prices of 20 essential items have been increased in the Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) update, stated the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Friday in a weekly inflationary number.
The prices of pulses and eggs have increased this week, said the PBS weekly report. Overall the collective inflation increase is 0.67 percent this week.
The prices of cooking oil have remained the same and could not be brought down, the SPI rate stays above 18 percent, said PBS.
However, the decline in prices of onions (7.43%), chicken (6.62%), sugar (1.87%), wheat flour (0.95%), LPG (0.73%), rice Irri (0.59%) and gur (0.15%).
The supplies that witnessed an increase, included washing soap (2.77%), bananas (2.11%), vegetable ghee 2.5 kg (2.01%), cooking oil 5 litre (1.32%), firewood (1.09%), and pulse Masoor (1.03%).
