ISLAMABAD: In a bid to make space for Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance Shaukat Tarin in the Senate, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Senator Ayub Afridi tendered his resignation in the upper house on Tuesday.
Senate Chairperson Sadiq Sanjarani has accepted the resignation.
Afridi has been an elected representative in the upper house of the Parliament for as many as six years.

Afridi said that the seat was entrusted to him by Prime Minister Imran Khan and he has no qualms in returning it, adding that he was directed to hold the seat till the joint session of the Parliament.
Meanwhile, sources privy to the developments informed that Senator Ayub Afridi will be appointed as adviser to the prime minister on overseas Pakistanis.
