New study finds India’s indigenous COVID-19 vaccine only 50pc effective
India’s homegrown COVID-19 vaccine is only 50 percent effective against symptomatic infections...
According to a new study, a heart condition known as myocarditis has been discovered in a number of college athletes in the United States who have had COVID-19.
The COVID-19 vaccine has also been related to myocarditis in some young persons. Experts say the chances of cardiac muscle inflammation in people who develop COVID-19 infection are much higher.
“We’re still learning about how the virus attacks the heart,” said lead researcher Dr. Jean Jeudy, a professor of radiology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
Jeudy said “Myocarditis is part of the body’s reaction to fighting the infection, but it’s also in response to the virus trying to attack the heart,”

A viral or bacterial infection is the most common cause of myocarditis. It can affect the heart’s rhythm and ability to pump. According to Jeudy’s team, it can also cause long-term scarring of the heart muscle.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that people with COVID-19 are 16 times higher than among those without the infection.
Myocarditis has been associated with up to 20% of unexpected deaths in young sportsmen, according to Jeudy and his colleagues.
