KARACHI: The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), in collaboration with the International Trade Centre (ITC), organised a seminar on “Women-in-Trade: Export Readiness 101” at the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the capacity-building of women entrepreneurs in Pakistan, a statement said on Monday.
This was the second in a series of planned seminars throughout Pakistan, leading to the upcoming Wexnet exhibition scheduled for February 2022 in Lahore.
Dr Shumaila Sikandar, deputy director of TDAP, informed about the incentives being provided by the authority to empower women to join trade.
Muhammad Shoaib Zafar, adviser, Trade Policy, ITC-ReMIT, briefed about the technical assistance under the revenue mobilisation investment and trade (ReMIT) project and activities carried out, especially for women businesses in Pakistan.
Renowned actress and an entrepreneur Zeba Bakhtiar emphasised on the potential of women entrepreneurs in the region.
Adeel Haider Mankee, an ITC consultant, gave a presentation on the market and product research, product development, business modeling, company/tax registration, marketing tools, export-related procedures, logistics and payment processes.
