WATCH: Shahnawaz Dahani asks his mother to pray for him ahead of his debut in T20I

Pakistan fast bowler Shahnawaz Dahani made his way to Playing XI for the third T20I against Bangladesh today in Dhaka. With his debut in the T20I, he will make history as he becomes the first cricketer from Larkana to feature in a T20I for Pakistan.

Before the match, Dahani asked his mother to pray for him in an emotional video shared by the PCB.

In the video, Dhahani can be seen asking his mother to pray for him as he will be playing his first match for Pakistan in T20I today.

Dahani’s mother can be heard telling her son that she will pray for him today and that she will be watching him bowl. She also expresses her willingness to pray for Pakistan’s triumph.

“Today is my debut match and I am very excited,” Dahani tells the PCB’s media team. “I am so excited that I cannot express my feelings. I was unable to sleep last night due to the happiness,” he added.

Dahani said today his “dream is coming true.”

“I had two wishes; one that I could debut in front of my parents [live] but unfortunately, we are in Bangladesh and they are not here. Secondly, I also wanted to play my debut match in front of my people in Sindh,” he added.

Dahani said that his village is located near Larkana where he began playing tape-ball cricket in his childhood. “I was extremely passionate about playing cricket. I pursued this passion and never looked back,” he added.

After taking the most number of wickets in the recent season of the PSL, he thanked the people of Larkana sincerely for their love and support.

“The way they welcomed me when I returned to Larkana, I cannot describe it for you,” he said. “They must also be really happy that a cricketer from Larkana is making his debut for Pakistan today.”

He said that he will be aiming for the man of the match title in his debut match. He said that it will be a big achievement for him.
