89% people supporting govt’s measures against Covid-19 big achievement: Fawad

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has said that Pakistani people have confidence in Prime Minister Imran Khan that he will not do anything for personal gains.

In a tweet on Thursday, Chaudhry said, “Whether it is a Transparency [International] survey or some other survey, after a long time, people have shown confidence at a political government that it does not contain corrupt elements.”

“The people have confidence in prime minister [Imran Khan] that he will not do anything for personal gains.”

“Eighty-nine per cent of the people support the government’s measures against Corona. It is a big achievement,” added the minister.

Yesterday, Transparency International (TI) had released a nationwide perceptions survey on Wednesday, according to which 92% of Pakistanis believe that inflation and price hikes are the highest in the current Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s tenure as compared to previous governments.

It added 85.9% of Pakistanis said that their “income levels rather squeezed and decreased during the last three years.”

The main reasons remained the rising inflation and unemployment, said the people in the survey and 50.6% of them blamed the government Incompetence, 23.3% said corruption, 9.6% said undue Interference of Politicians in government affairs and 16.6% said lack of implementation of policies as the main reasons behind inflation and unemployment.

According to the report, 89.1% of Pakistanis said they did not pay any bribe to a government official during the PTI government’s coronavirus-related relief efforts.
