Authorities seal three wedding halls in Karachi for violating Covid-19 SOPs

KARACHI: The Karachi administration closed Thursday three wedding halls in the District Central of the city for violating the coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs).

According to details, Lovely Hall and Delhi Muslim and a Hotel have been sealed in Liaquatabad for violating the coronavirus SOPs. Fines have also been imposed on other wedding halls in District Central.

According to police sources, more strict measures will be imposed today.

Meanwhile, police received a forensic report on the weapon used in the murder of Secretary Sindh Bar Association Irfan Mehr.

The report stated that the suspects had used 30 bore pistols in the murder and that the shells found at the crime scene did not match any of the past incidents.

A case has been registered under anti-murder and anti-terrorism provisions.

Citizens protest in FB Area

Citizens took to the streets against the police after an IT engineer was killed and two others including a policeman were injured in a robbery in Federal B Area.

According to details, the robbers entered a hairdresser’s shop in the Dastgir area of FB Area Block 14 and looted the people in there. During the incident police constable Saud, an employee of a hotel were also injured.

According to the residents, looting incidents continues from early morning till late night. Demonstrators said that the accused came on 4 motorcycles and entered the barbershop.

They said that the police station is just a few steps away from the street and the law enforcement agency was unable to apprehend the suspects despite being so close to the crime scene.
