Opposition more committed to national security than govt, says Marriyum

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Secretary Information Marriyum Aurangzeb has slammed Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry’s tweet criticising the joint opposition’s announcement to boycott the forthcoming in-camera briefing of the national security body.

Marriyum claimed that the opposition always vehemently participated in the meetings of national security issues and it was the so-called prime minister, who never attended such meetings in the past, adding that it was a pity that Imran Khan’s arrogance, ego and stubbornness has always prohibited him from participating in any national consultation process.

The PML-N leader said that the opposition never boycotted a meeting of a parliamentary security committee in the national interest.

She further said that Imran Khan was the first prime minister, who had not taken any issue of national security including Kashmir matter seriously. His absence from all meetings on Kashmir and other national security issues till date, was a proof of this, she said.

The former information minister maintained that Imran should give a second thought to the impact of his corruption, incapacity and incompetence on the life and interests of the people of Pakistan, and he must resign immediately.
