ISLAMABAD: A 10-member parliamentary delegation led by National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri left for Turkey on Wednesday to attend the 16th Session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC).

The conference will be held from December 9-10 in Istanbul Turkey.

The Pakistani delegation is visiting on the special invitation of the speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. The delegates will be deliberating on a very important theme of the conference “Sharing, Conscience and Islam: Palestine, Migration and Afghanistan.”

The 16th PUIC conference will be attended by the speakers, deputy speakers and the heads of delegations from Muslim countries. It will provide a forum for the parliamentarians for networking, sharing ideas and experiences on issues of mutual concern.

During their stay in Turkey, the Pakistani delegation will have bilateral meetings with the parliamentary leadership of Turkey and other brotherly countries on the sidelines of the event.

Apart from Suri, the delegation includes MNAs Rana Tanveer Hussain, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, Muhammad Israr Tareen, Gul Zafar Khan, Aslam Khan, Saleem Rehman, Makkhdoom Syed Sami ul Hassan Gillani, Saleem Rehaman, Ali Khan Jadoon, and Abdul Shakoor.
