After being elected as chancellor of Germany, Prime Minister Imran Khan, on Wednesday, congratulated German politician Olaf Scholz on Wednesday for securing his country’s top job.
“Warm felicitations to Olaf Scholz on assuming the Office of the Chancellor,” tweeted PM Imran.
The premier said that he looks “forward to working with Chancellor Scholz” to further deepen and strengthen the “long-standing multifaceted partnership between Pakistan and Germany”.

Olaf Scholz sworn in as German chancellor
Social Democrat Olaf Scholz was sworn in as Germany’s ninth post-war chancellor, earlier today, succeeding Angela Merkel as her 16 years in power came to an end.

Scholz, 63, took the oath of office in the chamber of the Bundestag lower house of parliament from speaker Baerbel Bas, after his election by MPs with 395 out of 707 votes cast.
Scholz has pledged broad “continuity” with the popular Merkel while making Germany greener and fairer.
