Punjab Acting Governor, PAC chairperson vow to make depts answerable before committees

LAHORE: Acting Punjab Governor Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and Chairman Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Punjab Assembly Sajid Ahmad Khan Bhatti on Thursday vowed to make all departments answerable before the parliamentary committees of the Punjab Assembly.

In a meeting held at the Governor House, the acting governor talking to the PAC chairman, who called on him at the Governor House, maintained that all the members of the Punjab Assembly are respectable hence the government officials of all departments must immediately respond to queries asked by the assembly committees  and ensure their presence whenever they are summoned.

He said that the process of impartial accountability should be expedited and members of Punjab Assembly should also cooperate with the committees in this regard.
