ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday rejected the bail plea of Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani – who is under the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) custody in assets beyond income case.

Speaker Sindh Assembly was arrested by NAB from Islamabad. The court sent him to jail on judicial remand till December 23. He has been accused of accumulating illegal assets worth Rs1.6 billion.

During the hearing, Durrani’s lawyer told the court that his client’s inherited property was not properly estimated by NAB. On this point, Special Prosecutor Sattar Awan told the court that the bureau has given a response.
