ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday rejected the forthcoming mini-budget calling it a black tornedo of inflation that is going to gulp the national industries and poor people of the country.

Speaking at a press conference, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader said that the Prime Minister Imran Khan has taken another U-turn by introducing a mini-budget contrary to his earlier promises.

“This mini-budget will prove to be the last nail in the coffin for the national economy. With the approval of this budget government of Pakistan will become International Monetary Fund’s tax collector,” he said, “we will not let it approve from the parliament.”

Shehbaz said that the increase in interest rate will spike inflation all across, calling it a repeat of the earlier mistakes. “Even after reduction in global fuel prices, the government is not reducing petrol prices.”
