Unelected PTI govt root cause of country’s problems, says Abbasi

DASU/LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice President and former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said on Wednesday that the root of all problems being faced by Pakistan right now was the imposition of an unelected government on the people of Pakistan.

Addressing a public meeting in Dasu, he said that the massive presence at this public meeting has proven that PML-N’s might, further adding that the vision of PML-N’s politics is to ensure a bright future for Pakistan and its coming generations.

Abbasi said that it was unfortunate for the country that the 2018 election was stolen and the people were robbed of their constitutional right of representation. A government was imposed on Pakistan that had no interest in the wellbeing of the people of this country; that had no intention of solving people’s problems; a government that had made every household of Pakistan worry for their survival.

The tsunami of inflation brought by this PTI government was unprecedented in the history of the country, he said.

He said the current inflation, unemployment, shortages and misery of the nation had one cause and one cause only which was the imposition of an unelected government through rigged elections.

“Which is why the only solution of this crisis is that a free, fair and transparent election be held; the people’s mandate isn’t robbed; the sanctity of the vote is respected,” Abbasi maintained.

He stressed that unless Pakistan’s system is not run in accordance with the constitution of the country, unless the supremacy of the constitution and its flawless implementation is ensured without exception, Pakistan would continue to struggle with inflation, unemployment and poverty and the country won’t be able to progress.

Pointing towards the Dasu and Diamer-Bhasha Dam, he said there were numerous plaques put up by various leaders to claim credit for these projects but the record clearly showed that only Nawaz Sharif is the one who not only gave money for these projects but successfully ironed out all kinks in these projects to make them possible.

He asked Prime Minister Imran Khan to tell the nation if he had allocated even a single paisa for the Dasu project. He said by the grace of God Almighty the Dasu Dam would be a gift by the people of Dasu for the entire country. Which was why, he said, the problems of the people of Dasu must be addressed by the country as its own on an emergent basis.

Abbasi said that fresh elections were not far away. He urged the people to ensure that the sanctity and respect for every single vote was upheld; that the transparency of the elections and their results were not compromised at any cost because that was the only way to ensure that Pakistan would progress and the problems of its people be solved.
