The former minister in his reaction added that no such summary has been sent to the President’s House so far.
Omar Sarfaraz Cheema will continue to discharge his duties as Punjab Governor as the authority to remove him lies with the President of Pakistan, Fawad Chaudhry added.
Earlier, Punjab Governor Umar Sarfaraz Cheema on Sunday refused to administer the oath to the newly-elected Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Hamza Shehbaz after calling the election as controversial.
Addressing a presser right after he was reportedly sacked, Cheema termed the election of the chief minister as ‘controversial’ and maintained was still the governor.
He said that the PM did not have the authority to remove him but the power rather rests with the president.
Cheema said his removal will only be confirmed once the premier forwards the summary to the president and gets denotified.
