The US has emphasised that charges of meddling in Pakistan’s internal affairs are false, and that it supports the peaceful enforcement of constitutional norms.

“We support the peaceful preservation of constitutional and democratic norms — that is the case in Pakistan — that is the case across the globe,” a US State Department official said Monday in response to concerns about Pakistan’s continuing constitutional issue.

Imran Khan said that a US official was working with opposition parties to launch the no-confidence resolution against him, and he specifically mentioned a State Department official in one of his meetings yesterday. “There is simply no truth to the accusations,” the State Department spokeswoman asserted once more.

According to the State Department, the United States does not favour one political party over another. “We endorse the larger concepts of equal justice under the law — the values of the rule of law,” the spokesman stated.
