The municipal disease prevention and control centre in Beijing recorded 23 new locally transmitted COVID-19 illnesses in the first 15 hours of Tuesday.
According to Liu Xiaofeng, deputy head of the Beijing municipal disease prevention and control centre, the 23 cases were spread over seven districts in Beijing, including eight in Haidian and five in Fengtai and Fangshan, respectively.
Between April 22 and 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 1,591 COVID-19 illnesses were recorded in Beijing.
During a citywide nucleic acid testing in Beijing on Monday, more than 15.2 million samples were collected, with four tubes of mixed sampling for COVID-19 found positive in the districts of Xicheng, Fengtai, and Shijingshan, according to Wang Xiao’e, an official with the Beijing municipal health commission, who spoke at a press conference on Tuesday.
