Authorities in Afghanistan announced Friday that at least nine people were murdered, ten others were injured, and three went missing as a result of recent floods caused by heavy rainfall.
Furthermore, floods on Tuesday and Wednesday demolished 300 dwellings and partially ruined 2,000 others in 11 of Afghanistan’s 34 provinces, according to the State Ministry for Disaster Management and Humanitarian Affairs on Twitter.
Over 1,000 animals have been killed by the heavy rains, which have also caused severe damage to agricultural fields, crops, roads, and highways.
According to the ministry, the worst-affected regions were Parwan, Badghis, Faryab, Herat, and Baghlan, where hundreds of households required aid.
The ministry also stated that cash assistance, as well as edible and non-edible products, are being distributed to flood victims.
