Drought in Lake Mead reveals more human remains

Following the finding of additional human remains in a barrel at the freshly exposed bottom of Lake Mead in Nevada last week, more human remains were discovered Saturday afternoon. Around 2 p.m. local time Saturday, NPS rangers received a witness report of human bone remains recovered in Callville Bay in Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

Rangers arrived on the site and established a cordon around the corpses. To ascertain the cause of death, the Clark County Medical Examiner was consulted. The inquiry is still underway. There were no more details provided. NPS and the Los Vegas Metropolitan Police Department were contacted for comment by Fox News, but no response was received before publishing.

Boaters discovered bone remains inside a barrel near the bottom of Lake Mead last Sunday. Las Vegas’ topmost water intake became visible this week after a prolonged drought lowered its water levels.

Homicide The corpse, according to Lt. Ray Spencer, was that of a guy who had been shot. He believes the murder took place between the mid-1970s and the early 1980s since the deceased was wearing shoes made around that period.

“A very strong likelihood that we will locate additional human remains when the water level decreases,” Spencer told KLAS-TV on Monday.
