The Islamabad High Court summoned the case of the illegal arrest of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf leader Shireen Mazari. The case was heard by the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Athar Minallah.
The Petitioners Shireen Mazari, Emaan Mazari, and Fawad Chaudhary were present at the court. Meanwhile, from the government side, Additional Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General were there.
The court clearly gave remarks that Shireen Mazari was arrested illegally. She was not the only member of the national assembly who was arrested.
The additional Attorney general asked for more time to commence a committee.
Faisal Choudhary said in front of the court that the ruling of the court was violated last night when police went to Waleed Iqbal’s house. The ruling of the court was also sent to the authorities of the Punjab government.
The Chief Justice passed this issue to the speaker of the National Assembly and the Chairman Senate. Ali Wazir is behind the bars for months. It is the work of the federal, provincial government, and parliament. They do not do a single work in their tenure and when they become part of the opposition, the cases are brought to the courts.
Chief Justice remarked that with such acts the democracy in the country gets affected. If each and every institution of the state work on their respective paradigms, such petitions will not make it to the court.
Political conflicts make the government and the opposition forget that they are answerable to the people of their own constituency. If political parties fight among each other and do not come out with a solution what will the court do?
