Dan Sanchez, a Dem Texas Democrat running in the U.S. House special election next Tuesday, also stated that “there is no violence” along the country’s southern border.

However, Sanchez, who is running for Texas’ 34th Congressional District, spoke about his experience living along the border in Los Indios, Dem Texas, last week during a larger discussion about gun control.

“There is no violence along the river here,” he stated at the Futuro RGV event. “No one is being assaulted here.” I believe it is utilized as political propaganda in D.C. to discuss our border. I believe we require safe borders. We require a secure border.

He moreover stated, my parents never considered not allowing us to go back and fish in the canal or go to a wooded area and build forts like we used to do when we were kids. And we were probably within 1,000 yards of the river.”

Meanwhile, a caravan presently making its way to the United States via Mexico might become the largest ever to arrive at the country’s southern border, with the current number of close to 10,000 migrants anticipated to increase to over 15,000.

However, Sanchez is trying to succeed Rep. Filemon Vela, D-Texas, who held the 34th Congressional District for over ten years. Sanchez will face three other candidates in the June 14 special election: Republicans Mayra Flores and Juana Cantu-Cabrera, and Democrat Rene Coronado.
