Lord Geidt served as the Queen’s Private Secretary from 2007 to 2017. Was dismissed from his position in the royal family for ‘poor’ handling of PM’s COVID lockdown incident. Has been recalled to serve the royals by collaborating closely with them.
According to The Daily Mail, Queen Elizabeth enlisted the help of a former advisor of UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson to ‘keep an eye’ on Meghan Markle when she first joined the royal family.
According to Express UK, Lord Geidt was the Queen’s ‘eyes and ears’ in 2019. He recently left as Johnson’s aide over the PM’s ‘poor’ handling of the incident surrounding his having parties during COVID lockdown.
While most Britons are unfamiliar with Lord Geidt’s political career, he has held a number of key positions, including serving as the Queen’s Private Secretary from 2007 to 2017.
He was then reported to have been recalled to serve the royal family in 2019 by collaborating closely with them.
“Her Majesty values Lord Geidt’s expert advise,” a royal source told The Daily Mail. This new position restores his formal status.”
“This was all part of the strategy to introduce the Duchess to royal life,” the person continued. Her Majesty’s eyes and ears will be Lord Geidt.”
Lord Geidt was later dismissed from his position in the royal family, but the reasons for his expulsion are unclear.
Meghan, on the other hand, stepped down as a senior royal alongside her husband Prince Harry in 2020 and moved to the United States.
