The bones of a teenager Susan Poole unearthed in Palm Beach County, Florida, in 1974 have been identified almost 50 years later as belonging to a 15-year-old girl.
Detectives investigating the circumstances of 15-year-old Susan Poole’s death in the 1970s have received no suggestions leading them to the three persons they believe may give helpful information.
According to Sheriff’s Detective, Susan Poole’s family reported her missing soon before Christmas in 1972. Springer stated that her bones recovered in June 1974.
However, the bones not matched to Poole until decades later, thanks to sophisticated DNA matching techniques.

“She was skeleton remnants, nothing but bones left of her,” Springer added. “Her clothes were in fairly bad shape. Okay. There was also no physical proof or bodily harm.”
“Nobody knew where she had gone. Her clothing and wallet were still at the apartment where she was staying.”
Schaefer was stabbed to death in 1995 by a fellow inmate in Florida State Prison, where he was serving a life sentence for the murder of two 16-year-old females.
Springer stated that he wishes to talk with any of Poole’s former pals, particularly Julie Hunt, Michelle Williamson, and Greg Anderson.
“I’m trying to piece together her last weeks,” Springer explained. “I need to find out what she was up to. If she had any other pals, or if she was seeing anyone in particular. I’m just trying to piece together her final hours.”
