Shiv Nadar leads philanthropic list
The ninth edition of the Philanthropy List, which ranks the nation’s most giving people, was published by Hurun India and Edelgive. India’s well-known industrialists are heavily included on the list.
Shiv Nadar, the creator of HCL Technologies, takes the lead with a staggering donation of Rs116.1 billion. Azim Premji and his family came in second place, giving a total of Rs4.84 billion in donations.
Reliance Industries’ Mukesh Ambani and family, who donated Rs4.11 billion of their wealth, placed third.
Fourth on the list with a donation of Rs. 2.42 billion is Kumar Mangalam Birla and family. The family has contributed over Rs750 million on an individual basis.
Susmita, Subroto, Radha, and NS Parthasarathy are ranked fifth on the list. They both achieved the same ranking despite contributing a total of Rs4.25 billion.
Anil Agarwal and his family are ranked eighth on the list after contributing Rs1.65 billion, while Gautam Adani and his family are ranked seventh after giving Rs1.9 billion.
The co-founder of Infosys, Nandan Nilekani, been ranked ninth on the EdelGive Hurun India Philanthropy List 2022 after donating a value of Rs1.59 billion.
The last name on the list is M Naik, group executive chairman of Larsen & Toubro, who gave a total of Rs1.42 billion.
The EdelGive Hurun Philanthropy List is released annually by the Hurun Report and EdelGive Foundation following the Hurun India Rich List. The list, which was released in September 2022 for the eleventh year in a row, includes 1,103 of the richest people in India.
