Summer in the United Arab Emirates has officially ended, and the nation is now enjoying a smooth transition from fall to winter. The cooler weather offers the ideal opportunity to explore the picturesque deserts of the Emirates as the temperature decreases.

According to tourist industry experts, desert safaris are the most popular outdoor activities in the United Arab Emirates. Daily bookings at tourism businesses have increased by about 30% as compared to August.

The demand for outdoor activities, particularly desert safari, is growing daily, according to Tito Mathachan, director of sales of Rayna Tours. “During the summer, we often hosted 200 visitors. We are already transporting up to 500–600 tourists to the desert every day due to the growing demand for desert safaris, according to Mathachan.

He continued by saying that these visitors are merely tourists travelling to the UAE to take in its otherworldly scenery, golden dunes, and varied adventures. There have been times when we have accommodated 1,000 visitors (per day) for the off-road excursion, according to Mathachan.

This six-hour desert excursion is a real Arabian adventure that includes 30 to 60 minutes of dune-bashing and is a must-do adventure when visiting Dubai. Rayna Tours arranges desert excursions that are the ideal prelude to an intense round of 4X4 dune bashing.

For a 4-6 hour trip, the company provides a variety of packages starting at Dh210 per person. Additional fees apply for many other packages, which include quad riding, a meal in the desert, a dune buggy, and more.

About 30 kilometers from Dubai’s downtown, near Al Awir, the guests are driven to a desert.

Other tour operators also witness a massive demand for desert safari and have daily trips for visitors in the country. “We have scheduled trips every evening and are mostly running full,” said Libin Varghese, director of sales, Rooh Tourism.

Varghese mentioned that there is huge competition in the tourism market, and a few operators offer a desert safari for as cheap as Dh35 for dune bashing for just 15 minutes, “however, that is not the true desert safari experience,” said Varghese.

“Dune bashing in desert safari is just 30- 40 minutes of adventure, but people must experience the other activities to get the feel of the ancient Bedouin culture and traditions.”

A day package from Rooh Tourism costs Dh120 and includes a few activities. Depending on the activity, tourists who request add-ons from the operator will pay a premium.

There are a variety of desert safari alternatives available in Dubai, both in the morning and in the evening. Tourists who want to see the breathtaking desert sunrise might go on a morning safari. Evenings are planned for a more conventional affair, complete with belly dance, a Tanura show, and a sumptuous BBQ meal that offers both vegetarian and non-vegetarian alternatives.
