KARACHI: Chief Election Commissioner(CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja chaired an important meeting to review preparation for upcoming general elections in Sindh province, Bol News reported.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has also finalized a security plan regarding the elections in Sindh. Pakistan Army, Rangers, and Police personnel are needed for provincial elections.

According to the recommendations of ECP, a total of 205,388 security personnel are needed in the province including 100,724 police personnel.

Similarly, 47,332 Rangers and 47,332 Pak Army personnel are needed for upcoming polls.

The ECP suggested to establish a total of 19,236 polling stations in the province.

More than 4,430 highly sensitive, 8,030 sensitive, and 6,077 normal polling stations will be established for the upcoming general election.

The Election Commission has recommended giving 443 laptops, 191 printers, and 573 multimedia projectors.

Earlier, The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has extended the voter registration and voter information update deadline from Wednesday (October 25) to Saturday (October 28).

This decision was made during a meeting chaired by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja. The Commissioner has called upon the general public to utilize this final opportunity to ensure their registration, transfers, exclusions, and vote accuracy by October 28, 2023.
