KARACHI: Sindh Caretaker Chief Minister (CM) former justice Maqbool Baqar and Health Minister Dr. Saad Khalid Niaz are at loggerheads over poor condition of hospitals in the province, particularly in Karachi.
On Thursday, the Chief Minister’s House spokesperson in a press release reacted to the statement of Caretaker Health Minister Dr. Saad Khalid Niaz and held him responsible for the bad condition of hospitals.
Spokesperson of Chief Minister Sindh said that the caretaker chief minister Sindh’s sudden visits to the departments proved that Dr. Saad Niaz miserably failed in improving the condition of hospitals.
Dr Saad Niaz criticized a great institution like SIUT instead of improving the condition of hospitals, the statement said, adding that Dr. Saad Niaz adjourned the review meeting thrice on grounds of bad intentions so that his poor performance could not be reviewed.
The language that Dr. Saad Niaz is using in his statement cannot be imagined to be used by any decent or professional doctor or minister, lamented the spokesperson.
Dr. Saad Niaz’s misstatement and absurdity in his statements shows that lies have no foundations, the spokesperson commented and said that when Dr. Saadniaz was held accountable, he came up with baseless and false statements.
Dr. Saad Niaz is adamant about violating the constitution and the law and is annoyed by his failure.
According to the constitution and law, the caretaker chief minister is obliged to give instructions to all provincial departments from time to time to improve their performance.
Dr. Saad Niaz wants to run his personal agenda by appointing a secretary of his choice in the health department, the spokesperson blamed, adding that caretaker chief minister Sindh is taking vigorous steps to provide better medical facilities to the people.
The Caretaker CM is taking steps to ensure adherence to constitution, law and rules, the spokesperson maintained.
